Who turns up.TrueStar Transportation is a private-pay wheelchair and ambulatory medical transportation company driving the northwest Minneapolis metro from Brooklyn Center. Three years on the road, drivers certified four ways, and a federal registration number you can look up before you call.

  • 4471059USDOT, on the federal register
  • 3+years driving this metro
  • 16cities on the daily schedule

Three complaints about this industry.

Asked what makes people leave a transport company, the answer was not price. It was these, in this order — so this is the company built against them.

  • “Nobody called.”

A person answers, in this metro — not a call centre, not a menu, and not an app that texts you a driver’s initial. The same person who picks up knows which van is where.

7am–7pm daily, earlier by arrangement. The standing dialysis runs leave before six; if you need a 4am pickup, ask for one.

  • “I couldn’t understand the driver.”

Every driver here speaks clear English. Being understood at your own front door at 6am is not a small part of this service, and it is the complaint we hear most often about the alternative.

  • “I waited over an hour to get home.”

On a Wait & Return the driver never leaves. They park, they wait out the whole appointment however long it runs, and they take you home — billed from pickup to drop-off, so a procedure that overruns costs you nothing extra in anxiety.

Three things about this company a stranger can verify without taking our word for any of it.

  • 4471059Our USDOT number

A federal registration, not a badge we printed. Look it up in the FMCSA’s own company snapshot and you will find this company, its operating authority and its insurance on file — which is a thing you can check about us in thirty seconds and cannot check about most of this industry. Open the FMCSA register.

  • 5.0from 3 Google reviews

3 is a small number and we have printed it rather than rounded it into a badge. All 3 are below, whole and unedited — including the parts that name what went wrong somewhere else.

  • 3+years on the road

Long enough to have learned which entrance the dialysis unit actually uses, and small enough that the person answering the phone knows which van is where. We are not trying to be the biggest operator in the metro. We are trying to be the one that turns up.

Certified four ways, every driver.

Not a nominated one who holds the certificate for the company. All of them, current.

  • First Aid
  • CPR
  • Wheelchair securement
  • Defensive driving

The securement certificate is the one that matters most on a February morning: it is the difference between a chair that is strapped to the floor of the van and a chair that is resting on it.

Door through door, both directions. The driver walks you from your door to the desk and stays until you are checked in, then comes back to the door rather than texting you from the kerb. And there is water and a mint on the seat, every ride, no charge and no ceremony. It is a small thing, and we have never skipped it.

A hand on the chair before it moves, and the door held open the whole way out of the seat.

A few riders, in their own words.

Every review this business has, printed whole. Not a selection — this is all of them.

  • Rated 5 out of 5

I was completely STUCK when my Metro Mobility ride canceled on me for a very tricky-to-get-into specialty cardiac appointment… TrueStar didn't just give me a ride — they gave me peace of mind.

Ask us something we haven't printed.

A person answers, quotes the fare off the same card this site prints, and holds the slot before you hang up. Nobody here talks you into a ride you do not need.
